This Privacy Policy describes how UNLOAD Journaling ("the Application") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our mobile application.
The Application collects several types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our service to you.
While using our Application, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you ("Personal Data"). Personally identifiable information includes, but is not limited to: • Identity Information: Name, Email address, and Profile picture URL (retrieved securely when authenticating). • Journaling & Emotional Well-Being Data: The title and body text of your journal entries, your mood/stress levels recorded before and after journaling (pre-intensity and post-intensity scores), specific thought-type categorizations, and your self-reflective reflections (such as structured answers to "What's Known", "What's Unclear", and "One steady line for now"). • Device Identifiers: Push notification tokens (FCM Tokens) to send you helpful and timely reminders to complete your daily journal entries.
While mobile applications do not use "cookies" in the same way as traditional web pages, we use local persistent storage mechanisms (such as shared_preferences ) to maintain your user experience. This includes: • Storing your active theme preference (Light/Dark mode). • Caching onboarding completion states. • Enhancing overall local app performance.
We use trusted third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. These include: • Google Play Services & Apple App Store: For application distribution, updates, and core store features. • Firebase Authentication & Google Sign-In: To facilitate secure, hassle-free authentication and account synchronization. • Cloud Firestore: To securely store, synchronize, and retrieve your profile and personal journal entries in real-time. • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): To power and deliver real-time reminder notifications.
The security of your highly personal journaling data is our top priority. We implement robust, industry-standard security measures, including: • Authenticated Access: All database operations require valid user authentication through Firebase. • Strict Firestore Security Rules: We use strict, hardened server-side rules ensuring that a user can only access, view, or modify their own journaling data. • Encryption: All communications between the app and servers are fully encrypted in transit using SSL/TLS protocols.
Please remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, but we employ best-in-class solutions to protect your thoughts.

If you click on a third-party link, you will be directed to that site. We strongly advise you to review the Privacy Policy of every site you visit. We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites or services.
